Nationally, 6.5 million Americans suffer from wounds that may not heal after months or even years of traditional treatment and are often painful and disruptive to a patient’s lifestyle. THE CENTER for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine is an outpatient service of Dickinson County Healthcare System that is committed to accurately diagnosing and effectively treating those members of our community who suffer from problem wounds. THE CENTER provides diagnostic interventions to quickly identify the cause of these wound healing problems. THE CENTER then offers individualized treatment plans following nationally accepted guidelines to effectively treat the cause of the identified healing dysfunction. THE CENTER is staffed by a specially trained team of doctors, nurses and other health care workers providing the most advanced techniques, products and services available to facilitate the wound healing process.
As part of our commitment to serve the needs of our community, THE CENTER for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine is now able to offer the area’s first hyperbaric oxygen treatment center to assist in healing specifically difficult wounds. Published medical and nursing evidence suggests that specialized centers for treating wounds improve outcomes by providing early and coordinated access to the full range of medical, surgical, and nursing interventions that may be required.
